Rye Beres is probably my new favorite skateboarder. Just watching him push was enjoyable (along with the sick boneless and backside grabs). Rye took first in his division.

Boerne Public Skatepark Grand Opening
Here's some pictures from this past Saturday's Grand Opening at the Boerne Public Skatepark (courtesy of Matthew Trevino). Thanks again to H20 Urbanwear and GSA for helping make this event a success. If you haven't been out to the Boerne Park yet, you should definitely make the trek out there for a good day of shredding.
Old Soles for Young Souls
Matthew Trevino has setup a "fund" raising element that will greatly benefit children of all ages with the necessities we often take for granted. Instead of actual "funds" or currency, Matt is collecting shoes (used or new) for those in need. To support Matt's cause, Evolution Skateboards has setup a donation box at our Bandera location to collect any welcomed donations. For more information, take a gander at the flyer.
U|SK8 Camp
U|SK8 is hosting a rad, little summer skate camp in a few weeks. Adrian Williams of Think fame and Richard Jefferson of I&I Skateboards will be in attendance for some instructional portions of the event (and probably some shredding too). You can peep their blog here for additional information or just some cool stuff that supports the local scene.
You can register here.

Boerne Public Skatepark Shredding
With the ribbon cutting opening the doors for people to come shred the new Boerne Skatepark on Monday, USK8 took some locals up there after our Go Skateboarding Day at Springtime. Grant McConnell with friends, and new Evolution team dude Eric Garcia, sessioned up the new park. Eric threw down some buttery tricks on and over the handrail, which you'll be able to see some more of this Saturday at the grand opening.

Go Skateboarding Day 2010
On June 21st, Evolution Skateboards was proud to host the National Go Skateboarding Day at Springtime Skatepark yesterday evening. Well, I really wouldn't call it the evening with the heat index reaching near 100. With the heat of Texas laying down upon us, it didn't stop the crowd of skateboarders from attending the event. Here's some pics from the event courtesy of Matthew Trevino.
Best Trick Contest Results:
Large Ledge
Eric threw out a ton of tricks on his home court, nailing a kickflip back smith for second place in the best trick on the larger ledge.
Roddie Frederik pulled out a backside noseblunt on the big ledge to take top seat in that division. Whoop, Whoop! Congrats, Roddie.
Tommy Wilkinson came out and killed the rail and small ledge with an onslaught of difficult tricks, helping him take 1st in both sections.
A huge thank you to all of our sponsors for helping put on this event and supporting the local skateboard scene. Thanks for Brent and Dan from Vans for making the trip out and unleashing a large amount of product to all who attended. This event would not have been possible without the skateboarders of San Antonio. Thank you.

The Era Pro is a major step in tweaking and upgrading the skate performance of one Vans' best selling classic shoes. With a reinforced suede top and more durable sole, this shoe has been rebuilt for street skating.
John Cardiel picked his favorite Vans model, the Era Pro, as part of the signature series issued by Vans in collaboration with fellow skate company icon, Spitfire. The Era Pro Spitfire features suede uppers and Vans classic waffle rubber soles.

Restock and Some New Stock
For $39 and some change, you can't go wrong with the Vans Era. This is a long lasting shoe for walks in the park and all that mumbo jumbo or some mellow skating on that parking block out front or your favorite ditch. This is a classic skate shoe with decades underneath its laces.
Just in at both shops, some very comfortable short sleeve button-ups from the Volcom Stone. Exclusive to core shops. Sorry Mall Walkers, but you'll have to jump in your car and cruise over here if you want to pick one of these up.
More $10 hats at both locations.
Matix and DC hats originally priced at $40.
